Heritage, What's It All About?

“Storybooking captures and preserves the images and stories of the events, heroes and heritage, that is lost when all that is left are the pictures.” Heritage is the weaving of our stories. It is the powerful principles and processes with which we stabilize the present. It is the basis from which we live our lives, and it is the framework upon which we build our confidence in a better future. When heritage fades, individuals, families and society lose stability and the future becomes uncertain. In our modern, fast-paced, highly diverse society, even the most fundamental family values are being challenged, and many of our most treasured family traditions are fading. In the midst of conflicting voices that challenge and threaten these basic values and family traditions, Heritage Makers calls out with a clarion message of hope to help children and adults know who they are and where they came from and to help them determine where they will go.
