Today is Great Grandma's birthday!

I made a contact at the Waterman Hospital in Tavares, FL this morning while we were at dad's cardio therapy appointment.  While talking with the purchaser of the gift store, a customer overheard us talking and asked if she could purchase the book that I  had with me.  Originally from Indiana, Charlotte purchased the book on-site, I signed it for her and had my picture taken with her.  I will be contacting the buyer and she said she would probably take 10 books to sell in the gift store.

We then went to find where we could donate a book to the chaplain's office of the hospital and ran into Barbara.  She directed us to the chaplain and on a second note was interested in how I completed the project as her son writes poetry and she was looking for an avenue to publish his poetry.  Had a nice visit and I will be contacting her in the next couple of days.

Article hits the Southern Lakes Newspapers

I met with Jennifer Eisenbart, news reporter for the Southern Lakes Newspaper one week ago.  We had a nice conversation and she wrote a wonderful article about the book and my passion for capturing these memories.    The article to my knowledge can not be viewed online, but it is in various newspapers around the Southern Lakes Area. Burlington, Lakes Geneva, Elkhorn, Delavan, Whitewater.....Thanks Jennifer for your support!

Nettie's Fountain Pen has arrived

It was an exciting day today, Tuesday, February 22nd.  Worked most of the morning knowing that the UPS truck wouldn't be arriving until afternoon.  When afternoon hit it was like waiting for Santa Claus to arrive.  Every sound I heard, I'd pop up out of my chair to see if THE BIG BROWN TRUCK had arrived.  I guess that was my method for exercise that day! HA.  When 5:00pm hit, I thought for sure they would not arrive until Wednesday, but you know what they say, put dinner on the table and the company will come or the phone will ring.

Just sitting down to dinner and THE BIG BROWN TRUCK pulls up outside.  I was like a kid in a candy store! The books  look as I expected and when I shared my story with the UPS man, he even gave a smile and said a few words.  That's the first time I've heard him speak!

The pre-orders have all been shipped and a handful of books have been placed at Gooseberries in Burlington.

It is exciting to say the least!

And...... the article comes out in the Southern Lakes Newspapers tomorrow.  Can't wait!
